Dometic Introduces the Brisk II Air Conditioner for RVs by Dometic Group ELKHART, Ind.
Dometic Group announced the release of its Brisk II Air Conditioner, the latest version of Dometic’s most popular and most imitated air conditioner for recreational vehicles (RVs). The Brisk II offers a 15% air flow increase, and is 19% lighter than previous models, making it the smallest 13.5K rooftop unit available. “Taking the best from Dometic's global expert air conditioning knowledge base, we are releasing the Brisk II - a stronger, lighter, smaller and more environmentally friendly RV air conditioner than any other on the market,” said Dave Schutz, Vice President of RV OEM Sales and Marketing, Dometic Americas.
“The Brisk II uses its innovative design, tighter specification allowances and improved materials to maximize air flow and performance.” The Brisk II is easy to install and maintain, with a high-performance motor and fan. Its EPP foam housing reduces weight and increases cooling. Rounded edges increase air flow, and fan motor sound dampening brackets reduce noise and vibration. The unit weighs 72 pounds, and has a 2.7 kW fan speed.
The Brisk II unit offers tighter tolerances for improved fit and finish between shroud and evaporator cover. Its press fit evaporator cover eliminates fasteners for improved service access, and its custom composite Korad shroud is laminated to provide UV protection. The sturdy design includes a three-inch deep-drawn G 90 carbon steel drain pan with powder-coated finish for durability, and larger air openings for improved air flow and cooling performance. The edges are roll-formed, and the enclosed wrap-around base pan and shroud add strength and protect the coils.

Grand Design RV Co. has released its new owner’s manual.
Adding something unique and different to its manual, Grand Design offers its manual in both printed and digital CD format. Many other manufacturers offer their manuals online in PDF format, but are not available on CD.
Owner’s manuals from manufacturers such as Jayco, Tiffin, Airstream and Forest River offer owner’s manuals online and in print, but have yet to offer them in a digital CD format.
Grand Design President and co-owner Don Clark said his company dedicated many resources to the creation of what they consider, one of the most advanced, comprehensive owner’s manuals in the industry.
Jerry McCarthy, VP of service operations, added that an extremely detailed and user-friendly owners manual is of critical importance when it comes to a positive ownership experience.
“Our industry-leading manual and companion CD completely meets our goal of providing vital operational information and ‘safety first’ considerations,” McCarthy said.
The company began distribution of the new owner’s manuals in mid-June.

EverGreen RV LLC is recalling certain model year 2010-2012 Ever-Lite and Element travel trailers.
The trailers are equipped with propane cylinders that may leak gas or rupture. Leaking propane gas, in the presence of an ignition source, may result in a fire.
EverGreen will notify owners and dealers will replace the propane cylinder, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin by July 19. Owners may contact Evergreen at 1-574-825-4298.

Thor Safety Recall Includes 8,500 Motorhomes

Thor Motor Coach is recalling certain model year 2006-2013 Windsport, model year 2006-2010 Magellan, model year 2007-2013 Hurricane, model year 2009-2013 Serrano and model year 2011-2013 A.C.E. motorhomes, potentially affecting 8,535 motorhomes.
The motorhomes are equipped with an RV Custom Products Battery Control Center (BCC), which may experience a failure while the motorhome is in motion. If the BCC fails, all power may be lost to the motorhome chassis, including all lighting, increasing the risk of a crash.
Thor will notify owners, and dealers will rewire the BCC free of charge. A notification schedule hasn’t been released. Customers may contact Thor at 1-877-855-2867. Thor’s recall campaign number is RC000077.
